Mishap Protection for cats who think gravity is optional.

Simple accident cover that helps with eligible vet costs when your cat has a sudden mishap.

Because cats have no fear... and no money

Cats are clever.
They’re agile, curious, fearless…
and occasionally spectacularly overconfident.

They leap from places they shouldn’t.
Climb things they can’t get down from.
And sometimes discover gravity the hard way.

That’s why we created 9 Lives Mishap Protection.
Just $30 a month. Any cat. Any breed. Any age. Start or cancel anytime.

What counts as a Mishap (Accident)?

We call it Mishap Protection — but in insurance terms, it’s an accident. That means one sudden, unexpected event that causes physical injury. Some common examples include:

  • motor vehicle incidents
  • injuries caused by another animal including rough play
  • falls
  • snake bites
  • cuts
  • toxicity
  • swallowing an object that requires removal

Why accident-only cover?

Because cats can be unpredictable.

Accidents get expensive fast. Accident-only cover keeps things simple and clear, so you only pay for the cover you actually want.

What we help cover (when it’s mishap-related)

The injury is just the start. It’s not always obvious what’s gone wrong. We’ve got your back for what comes next.

If it’s an accident and your cat ends up at the vet, we can help with eligible costs such as:

  • Emergency vet visits

  • Tests and diagnostics (blood tests, x-rays, scans)

  • Treatment and procedures
    Surgery (if needed)

  • Hospital stays

  • Medication

  • Follow-up care related to the accident

In short, accidents don't end with the injury, it’s everything that comes after to get them back on their paws.

What’s not covered?

Anything your cat gets, catches or develops over time. This includes things like cancer, diabetes, arthritis, allergies and infectious disease — plus routine care like vaccinations, wellness checks and dental cleans.

And just so it’s clear: if it happens before or during the waiting period - even if it was an accident - it's not covered either.

Cats explore the world with enthusiasm.
Sometimes that enthusiasm leads them into trouble. Even careful cat owners experience unexpected mishaps.

What cat accidents actually cost

Many pet owners assume vet bills stay under $1,000. But accidents can cost far more.
